Spondyloarthrosis

Features

Spondyloarthrosis is more common in people over 25 years of age. It can be both representatives of mental labor and people who have heavy physical exertion due to the nature of their work.

People suffering from osteochondrosis are also at risk. The height of the discs decreases over time, increasing pressure on the joints. This leads to degeneration and inflammation of the cartilage tissue of the discs.

There are 3 types of spondyloarthrosis according to location: cervical (most common), thoracic, lumbar.

Symptoms of spondyloarthrosis

Persistent aching pain in different parts of the back. Pain increases when playing sports or walking. Unlike herniated disc pain, the pain does not radiate to the arm or leg, it is localized around the affected area of the spine.

Morning stiffness of the spine in the affected area (restriction of movement may last for half an hour).

Feeling of discomfort when staying in the same position of the body, desire to change position.

If bone formations have formed as a result of inflammation, numbness and weakness in the extremities may occur.
