Coxarthrosis

Coxarthrosis

Symptoms

The main symptom is pain in the affected joint. The pain is localized in the groin area, sometimes spreading over the entire surface of the leg up to the knee. Painful sensations occur during physical exertion and intensify in the evening. After rest, the pain disappears. At first, unpleasant sensations bother infrequently, then the pain becomes paroxysmal and occurs even at rest. As the disease progresses, the pain becomes more intense, movements become difficult when walking, the patient begins to limp.

Features of the disease

Coxarthrosis has 5 stages of development

Complete absence of changes in the joint on X-ray

Pronounced osteophytes with sclerotic changes under the articular cartilage, significant narrowing of the joint space

In the early stages, coxarthrosis can be treated completely and conservatively. The most difficult thing is to detect changes in the properties of the joint fluid at the initial stage, since many people confuse the pain symptom in the joint with ordinary pain in the leg after exertion.

Timely treatment will help improve the quality of life and postpone the timing of surgical intervention as much as possible.
