Elbow epicondylitis

Epicondylitis of the elbow joint

Causes of epicondylitis

The disease usually occurs against the background of overloading the muscles and ligaments of the elbow and wrist. Micro-tears of the tendons often affect athletes and representatives of labor professions, whose activities involve repetitive movements and a strong load on the elbow joint. Due to its prevalence among athletes, the disease has received the stable name "tennis elbow" in foreign practice. The second common cause of the disease is congenital insufficiency of the connective tissue. Therefore, in the presence of diseases such as scoliosis and flatfoot, one should be attentive to the symptoms of epicondylitis, which is more severe against the background of this pathology.
